Course Description

The event starts at 09:00 with an event briefing on the beach at 08:30.

The course follows a 'clover leaf' format with all transitions to be held on Osborne Esplanade, Kingston Beach. The race is continuous like a relay or a triathlon. Tracks will be well marked with arrows and bunting, and marshalled by volunteers and SES safety personnel.

Kayak - 8 km,  map

The Kayak leg will involve two 4km laps of a course marked by buoys along Kingston beach between the magnificent Alum Cliffs and the sailing club. If the weather is unpleasant the course will be shortened and the bouys bought in.

*Boat leg leashes will be compulsory for all ski craft.

Roadcycle - 25 km,  map

The road cycle leg will take competitors along the classic Taroona ride with a great climb up over Bonnet Hill followed by a fast descent to Lower Sandy Bay. Here competitors will turn around a marker as directed by safety personnel and return to Kingston Beach via the same route.

Mountain Bike - 15 km

The mountain bike will head up Tyndall Rd and over Bonnet Hill to a loop on the Lea Scout Property. Here competitors will follow 4WD and horse tracks before a fast descent onto Proctors Rd (gravel) and back to Kingston Beach.

*Sections of the mountain bike course traverse private property and are accessible on race day only.

Run - 8 km,  map

The run will head down the hard packed sand of Kingston Beach, along the clifftop tracks to Boronia Beach, up to the road and then down to Blackmans Bay Beach and back. Make sure you take a minute to admire the views!!
